Compare Unicorno Series 12 and After Dark Masquerade blind boxes on theme, case size, and collecting goals to decide which tokidoki series to buy.
Quick answer
Choose Unicorno Series 12 if you want a broad, character-driven set with ten new Unicornos and varied everyday themes. Choose After Dark Masquerade if you prefer a cohesive masquerade theme with glittering masks and hidden identities.
Theme and character variety
Series 12 spreads its ten figures across recognizable interests such as basketball, breakfast, and city travel, so the set feels like a group of distinct personalities. After Dark Masquerade keeps every figure inside a single costume-party idea, with masks and glitter details tying the series together. Neither approach is better; the trade-off is variety versus visual cohesion on your shelf.
Case size and duplicate risk
After Dark Masquerade is sold in cases of eight blind boxes, and the catalog explicitly notes that a full case does not guarantee you will avoid duplicates. Series 12 is also sold as single blind boxes, but the supplied facts do not state a case size for that series. If completing a full set matters to you, treat the masquerade case as a fun group purchase rather than a guaranteed shortcut.
Price and value context
At catalog prices, Series 12 is listed at USD 10.50 (compared with a USD 14.00 comparison price), while After Dark Masquerade is listed at USD 10.56 (compared with USD 16.00). The difference per box is small, so let theme and collecting goals decide rather than the few cents. Remember that blind box contents are random, so price does not predict which figure you receive.
Key trade-offs
- Theme cohesion vs. character variety: After Dark Masquerade offers a single masked-ball theme across the set, while Series 12 mixes ten everyday-inspired characters. Pick the masquerade if you want a unified display; pick Series 12 if you enjoy discovering different personalities.
- Case size and duplicates: After Dark Masquerade cases contain eight blind boxes and may include duplicates even in a full case. Series 12 case size is not stated in the supplied facts, so check the product page before buying multiple boxes. If duplicate-free collecting is your priority, buy singles or trade rather than relying on a case.
- Price per box: Series 12 is USD 10.50 per box (comparison price USD 14.00); After Dark Masquerade is USD 10.56 per box (comparison price USD 16.00). The difference is negligible, so choose based on theme and collecting goals.
Product facts
- Unicorno After Dark Masquerade Blind Box: Each Masquerade Unicorno features glittering masks, hidden identities, and dazzling details; one random design per blind box, eight boxes per full case. The masquerade theme is consistent across the set, so every pull fits the same display story.
Unicorno After Dark Masquerade Blind Box - Unicorno Series 12 Blind Box: Series 12 features ten new Unicornos with varied themes such as basketball (B-Baller), breakfast (Brekkie), and city travel (Metrocorno); each blind box contains one figure. The broader range of characters gives you more chances to find a personal favorite, but the set is less visually uniform.
